What you’ll do:

 

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager – Technology Portfolio to drive enterprise-wide portfolio governance of technology activities across Wesfarmers Health.

 

Reporting to the Head of Technology – Architecture and Delivery, and working closely with our Strategy and Transformation team, this role sits at the heart of our technology function, providing strategic oversight of portfolio performance, investment, delivery risk, and resource capacity. You will play a pivotal role in enabling informed decision-making by translating complex delivery insights into clear recommendations for senior leadership.

 

Working across a diverse portfolio, you will influence how technology investments are prioritised, governed, and delivered. Success in this role will be built on your ability to foster strong stakeholder relationships, navigate competing priorities, and create alignment across business and technology teams to maximise delivery outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities Include, but not limited to:

 

  • Providing enterprise-wide visibility of portfolio performance, delivery health, risks, dependencies, and capacity
  • Establish and optimise portfolio governance frameworks, including investment planning and decision-making processes
  • Partner with senior technology leaders to align portfolio priorities with strategic objectives and organisational capacity
  • Facilitate executive portfolio reviews and planning forums, providing insights and trade-off analysis to support sequencing and investment decisions
  • Oversee portfolio capacity planning, proactively identifying resource constraints and resolving competing demands across key technology domains
  • Provide strategic guidance on programme sequencing, dependency management, and delivery planning to optimise portfolio outcomes
  • Monitor portfolio and vendor delivery performance, identifying systemic risks and driving timely intervention where required
  • Drive continuous improvement of portfolio management practices, governance standards, tools, and reporting capabilities
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team while fostering delivery excellence across the broader project and programme community

 

What you’ll bring:

 

  • 10+ years’ experience in technology portfolio management, PMO leadership, or enterprise program environments within complex organisations
  • Proven ability to operate at executive level, influencing strategic decision-making and investment prioritisation
  • Strong experience designing and implementing portfolio governance, prioritisation, and capacity management frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex delivery environments, identify systemic risks, and provide actionable insights
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to navigate competing priorities and build alignment
  • Experience managing enterprise-level resource contention and facilitating prioritisation trade-off discussions
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including investment planning, forecasting, and benefits realisation
  • Experience overseeing large-scale, multi-stream technology programmes and vendor-delivered initiatives
  • Proven leadership capability, with experience building high-performing teams and influencing across distributed delivery models
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
