What you’ll do:
We’re looking for a strategic and experienced Senior Manager – Cyber Security to lead and elevate our cyber security capability across Wesfarmers Health.
Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Technology – Operations & Risk, you’ll play a critical leadership role in translating cyber strategy into execution—ensuring robust security operations, governance, risk management and compliance frameworks are embedded across the business.
You’ll act as a trusted advisor to both technology and business leaders, safeguarding our information assets while enabling innovation and growth. This role will see you lead specialist teams, uplift security maturity, and shape a strong, organisation-wide security culture.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the implementation and ongoing enhancement of cyber security, data security, risk and governance strategies aligned to business objectives
- Oversee security operations, risk identification, assessment and mitigation, including reporting and escalation of key risks
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS, Privacy Act)
- Partner with Technology leadership to align cyber risk practices with the broader technology risk framework, contributing governance, taxonomy and assurance maturity across the wider risk landscape
- Partner with Technology, Risk, Legal and business teams to embed security-by-design principles across initiatives and platforms
- Drive governance, assurance and audit activities, including third-party risk management
- Support and coordinate responses to major security incidents, ensuring effective communication and continuous improvement
- Manage relationships with vendors and partners, optimising performance and value
- Champion a proactive security culture through awareness, education and engagement initiatives
What you’ll bring:
- 15+ years’ experience in IT security, cyber risk or technology risk roles with at least 5 years’ experience leading teams
- Demonstrated experience operating at senior manager or equivalent level
- Proven experience implementing cyber security frameworks, controls and governance
- Experience managing and leading specialist technical teams
- Strong experience with cloud, SaaS and modern technology environments
- Experience supporting regulatory, legislative and audit requirements
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance risk, cost and commercial outcomes
- Pragmatic, risk-based approach to security and compliance
- Strong judgement, resilience and problem-solving capability
- Appropriate tertiary qualification; postgraduate qualifications desirable
- Relevant industry certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP (or equivalent)
