What you’ll do:

 

We’re looking for a proactive and ambitious Category Assistant to help manage and grow our vibrant Cosmetics & Haircare range. This is your chance to work alongside experienced Category Managers, learn the ropes of category management, and make a real impact in a fast-paced retail environment.

 

You’ll support the day-to-day running of the category, keep operations on track, and use your analytical skills to uncover trends that shape planning, buying, and pricing decisions. With a mix of admin, analysis, and problem-solving, no two days will be the same.

 

What you’ll be doing:

 

  • Support promotional planning, catalogue execution, and campaign coordination to drive category performance
  • Assist with product lifecycle management including new line setup, ranging updates, and clearance activity
  • Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate product information, pricing, and promotional execution
  • Maintain category systems and ensure data accuracy across pricing, ranging, and product information
  • Analyse customer data to uncover insights that drive category strategy and enhance the Priceline customer experience
  • Support the delivery of category initiatives from insights to procurement, inventory, store and online operations, through to stock resolution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver sales growth and meet category targets
  • Ensure smooth execution of daily operations while keeping the customer at the centre of everything you do

What you’ll bring:

 

  • Proven experience as a Category, Buying or Merchandise Assistant
  • Desirable experience in the pharmaceutical or retail industry
  • Basic understanding of Category Management and the relevant legislation
  • A basic understanding of inventory management processes and flow on impacts
  • Sound analytical skills to analyse data, draw out and communicate rudimentary insights
  • Strong data management skills, including maintaining and reporting
  • Growth mindset, continually looking to improve ways of working and grow the portfolio
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and adapt to ensure priorities to varying timelines are met in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with high level of proficiency in excel required
  • Tertiary Qualification (Business, Finance, Procurement, Marketing or Retail)
