What you’ll do:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Store Planner to join our Store Development team. Reporting to the Retail Design & Planning Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our retail network through the delivery of customer-centric, commercially effective store planning and design solutions.
In this role, you will work across a diverse portfolio of store development projects, including new stores, refurbishments, relocations and format development initiatives. You will translate operational, commercial and franchise partner requirements into innovative store layouts and planning solutions that align with brand standards, compliance requirements and business objectives.
Working cross-functionally, you will partner closely with Construction Project Managers, Merchandise, Operations, Property, Network Development and external consultants to ensure the successful delivery of store concepts from feasibility through to construction and handover.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop innovative store layouts, customer journeys and category flows that enhance customer experience and commercial outcomes
- Design shopfronts and store concepts that meet franchise partner, landlord and council requirements
- Manage documentation consultants including architects, engineers and certifiers throughout the project lifecycle
- Review documentation packages to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with applicable standards
- Ensure store plans meet regulatory, safety, BCA/AS and Pharmacy Board requirements
- Present planning solutions and recommendations to franchise partners and internal stakeholders
- Facilitate the resolution of competing operational, commercial and design requirements
What you’ll bring:
- Demonstrated experience in architectural, retail or similar design practice, or in-house retail design team
- Demonstrated experience of a high design aesthetic level and ability to innovate
- Proven ability to conceptualise plan layouts and communicate with stakeholders
- Previous experience in a franchise environment highly regarded
- Previous experience in Pharmacy or similar industry highly regarded
- Strong understanding of retail planning, space optimisation and store development processes
- Knowledge of construction documentation, design standards management and BCA/AS compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office
- Tertiary qualification in Architecture, Interior Design or similar discipline
