About the role:

 

We’re on the hunt for a PR & Events Specialist to join the Wesfarmers Health team in our Docklands office. In this role no day is the same, but every day is exciting. One day you could be planning a big event, the next writing copy for a media release. 

 

We’re looking for someone who can build solid relationships with media and influencers, and help deliver events to a range of audiences including media, team members and industry professionals.

The responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Playing a key role in delivering our annual PR event The Beauty Prescription LIVE, including but not limited to managing the critical path, guest list, logistics, developing creative concepts and managing the coverage report
  • Playing a key role in other events and activations across the business as they arise – this could be anything from a media event to an internal team member conference, to an Annual General Meeting, to a supplier event
  • Liaising with PR agencies, including weekly meetings, internal logistics, approvals, time management and post implementation reviews
  • Managing PR activity for other Wesfarmers Health activity
  • Managing product and organising PR kit send outs
  • Developing relationships with media and content creators
  • Managing PR administration  

 

 

Our ideal candidate would have the following experience and attributes:

 

  •  5+ years’ experience in a similar role
  •  Tertiary qualification in PR, Marketing or Journalism; or equivalent Business degree
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with impeccable attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to execute large events
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of the media landscape – traditional, online and social
  • Experience in writing media releases, creating news hooks and creating compelling content
  • The ability to influence at all levels and experience liaising with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in juggling multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Creative and energetic, with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Curious, with an innate desire to seek to understand
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
