What you’ll do:
As the National Injury & Wellbeing Manager, your mission will be to lead a nationally consistent approach to wellbeing and injury management, ensuring the health and safety of our valued team members. You will provide expert guidance to across our diverse business units (including Priceline, Supply Chain and our Support Office) on best practice early intervention Injury Management and Workers Compensation Premium Management. Additionally, you will develop and implement comprehensive wellbeing strategies and initiatives, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract opportunity reporting to the Head of Safety, Health & Wellbeing, and is also responsible for leading a small team consisting of two high performing Injury & Claims Management roles.
The responsibilities for this role include:
- Injury Management: Designing and maintaining a best practice and outcome focused Injury Management System, ensuring early intervention and high-performing strategies.
- Self-Insurance, Premium and Claims Management: Coordinating and facilitating the Self-Insurance program, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and the effective management of claim and premium costs.
- Health and Wellbeing: Leading the strategic development and management of health and wellbeing programs, addressing psychosocial risks and managing external provider partnerships.
- Safety, Health & Wellbeing: Complying with and promoting occupational health and safety policies, while coaching safe behaviours, and facilitating team member discussions on safety issues.
- Reporting: Proactive analysis of injury and claim data to identify and drive strategic and proactive interventions. Contributing to Safety, Health, and Wellbeing reporting at a board, exec and business unit level.
- Continuous improvement: Using data driven insights to develop strategies, tools, processes and procedures to ensure a best in class injury management program. Includes the review, update and development of injury management, return to work and wellbeing processes and procedures.
- Safety Strategy, Management, and Systems: Participating in the development of Wesfarmers Health’s SH&W strategy. Providing coaching and support and contributing to national safety solutions.
What you’ll bring:
- 5-7 years in a health and safety leadership role within a medium to large commercial enterprise
- Extensive subject matter expertise of workers compensation processes and requirements
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams to identify and address wellbeing and injury management issues
- Extensive expert knowledge of Workers Compensation Acts, regulations and codes
- Excellent stakeholder management, consultation skills to identify and proven ability to influence
- A strong understanding of best-practice healthcare and rehabilitation standards
- Tertiary qualification – preferably in OHS, Allied Health, HR or a related discipline
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
