What you’ll do:
We have a newly created opportunity for a Head of Merchandise Operations to join the team. Reporting to the General Manager - Merchandise, this senior leadership role will have the exciting remit of leading the development and execution of the merchandise strategy to optimise performance and growth opportunities across the portfolio. The successful applicant, along with their team will drive operational excellence, process improvements and build cross-functional alignment to support and respond effectively to market dynamics.
Other key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage the trade plan to ensure strong customer centric trade plan to drive sales and profit growth
- Manage range reviews and space planning to maximise return on space
- Deliver great availability for stores and customers whilst managing working capital and clearance outcomes
- Work in partnership internally to utilise data and customer insights to optimise merchandise results
- Deliver continuous improvement and a shift in merchandise capability
- Drive the merchandise transformation agenda and roadmap
- Manage cross functional relationships to ensure that the business is aligned to drive excellent execution
- Create a strong and valued business partner mentality between merchandise operations and the category trading teams
- Optimise our ways of working to deliver efficiency and step change the business outcomes
What you’ll bring:
To excel in this role, you would have demonstrated a successful track record in a similar position, with proven capabilities in delivering transformation projects and programs. You are an ambitious and natural leader with extensive experience leading high performing teams and the ability to influence at all levels.
Other attributes and experiences that will make you succeed include:
- 15 years’ experience in sales of which 10 years spent in management roles
- Hands-on experience in both design and implementation with the ability to articulate pain points, solutions and drive workshops
- Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across teams and departments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a number of projects simultaneously to tight deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Business or a related field
