About the role:

 

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Data Governance Analyst to join our Data & Analytics/Data Governance team. Based at our Docklands Support Office, and reporting to the Data Governance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the data governance framework across the Wesfarmers Health businesses, ensuring adherence to data governance policies and standards, and promoting good data governance practices.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Collaborate with the Wesfarmers data governance cohort to develop and optimise data governance standards, processes, and tools that ensure effective management of data throughout its lifecycle
  • Support the implementation of the data quality framework, including defining critical data elements, applying quality rules, and coordinating remediation activities.
  • Partner with project teams and the Data Governance Manager to conduct governance reviews for technology initiatives, embedding controls for data classification, access, usage, and sharing.
  • Investigate, optimise, and implement data governance tools and processes to improve operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Implement and operationalise processes aligned to the data governance suite of policies (e.g., data sharing, usage, access, retention), including creation of templates, registers, and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with governance processes, assess performance of controls, and escalate material issues as required.
  • Apply strong project management and delivery skills to ensure initiatives are completed on time, within scope, and with stakeholder engagement throughout.

 

What you’ll bring:

 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field, preferably within health or retail industries.
  • Experience with data governance tools (i.e. Purview, Alation)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence others effectively.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders in a complex business environment.
  • Ability to balance risk and compliance requirements with commercial objectives.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships and achieve objectives.
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously.
  • High attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
  • Strong Excel skills.
