About the role:
The Communications Specialist is responsible for executing our corporate and internal communications plan, supporting Wesfarmers Health’s growing portfolio of businesses.
You’ll partner with business units to develop strategic communications campaigns that leverage our communication channels and tactics to build resonance and connection with our people.
Ultimately, your communications will help connect our Team Members to the Wesfarmers Health’s strategy and engage them in our transformation.
We’re looking for someone with a great attitude, exceptional attention to detail and a willingness to hone their communication skills in a hard-working (but fun!) team.
The responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
Internal communication:
- Partner with Wesfarmers Health business units to drive internal alignment with communication activities
- Manage various communication tactics (e.g. intranet, weekly newsletter, digital screens etc)
- Manage special events and campaigns
- Support key internal communications projects such as conferences and forums
- Support other internal communications activities as required
Corporate communication:
- Provide support for award submissions, speaking engagements, testimonials and case studies, maintaining logs for all activities
- Provide support for media monitoring and administrative tasks as required
What you’ll bring:
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in communications and events within diverse, complex organisations. Preferably within the health, retail and/or franchised sectors but this is not mandatory.
Qualifications and experience
- 5+ years’ experience in corporate affairs, communications or public relations including experience working with senior leaders
- Bachelor Degree or higher in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or other related field
Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to present confidently to senior stakeholders
- Able to synthesise complex information and ensure effective interpretation, in order to effectively communicate to audiences
- Ability to build strong relationships and trust across all levels of the organisation to influence outcomes
- Is a critical thinker who is creative, energetic, with a ‘can do’ attitude (and loves to challenge the status quo)
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously, while valuing opportunities to brainstorm and collaborate with the wider team
- Project management skills, excellent time management and organisational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
